The Basics

There are special memories and moments in our lives that we cherish. Watching my son learn how to tie his first solo knot and add weight to his line was one of those memories I will always cherish. These were taken back in July of 2008. I just thought of that fishing trip today and realized I had photos to remember the day by. My son will turn 13 in less than two weeks. I am wishing I could roll back the clock to when he was about 3 days old right about now. The more things he learns to do on his own the less needed I become. He’s so independent these days! Anyhow…I love these photos because they documented him learning some basic skills he will use time and time again.

Hoping you all have a great weekend!

  1. A boy will always need his mom. Never forget that 🙂

  2. He’s adorable and dont worry – he’ll always need you!

  3. Very nice Heather, like how you filled the frame with the subject and the reflection in the glass’s in the first.

  4. One can sense his concentration even though his eyes are shielded with his sunglasses.

My son is older than YOU…and yet we still have a special bond. You too will enjoy the special bond of mother/son for years to come. I will admit the bond does change however….and mostly for the GOOD!

  5. Good looking lad. Nice crisp shots. You might think your son will “leave you” when he moves out of the house, but he will always remember Mama. And times are things will happen that only Mama can solve, cure, handle, cheer up, hold his hand, whatever, he will need you. And especially when he is about to pick a wife. But he is only 13 now. Lets let him grow up first! 😀

  6. I agree with everyone’s comments. He’s always going to need his mom! =) I like the photos – he’s got such concentration going!!

  7. Great job of capturing his intense concentration…what a beautiful family you have!
